Endorsement of the application initiative “Support4RDM” to establish an RDM Helpdesk Network
Research Data Management (RDM) is the backbone of sustainable research activities. A central part of any data service infrastructure is the user support and helpdesks are important contact points.
There are many other local and regional RDM helpdesks that support researchers and often face the challenge of finding suitable contacts for subject- or data specific RDM questions. In addition, most NFDI consortia have already established or are planning to establish helpdesks to support their specific communities. The proposed NFDI basic service Support4RDM builds a helpdesk network in Germany and beyond, integrating local, regional, and national helpdesks. It will ensure that researchers and data professionals can quickly and easily find the right service, answer or support. The network is designed to be reliable and efficient for both researchers and consultants. It will foster a strong community and develop technical components to facilitate effective workflows.
